Hi all, sorry for not posting last week - everything was a little hectic with the acreditation visit! This week I would like to change the topic of discussion from music to art. These pieces are from a famous street artist called Banksy. Do you consider them to be art? Or would you call them graffiti? Do you think there is a difference between street art and graffiti? Let us know your thoughts on Banksy's work and what you consider to be worthy of the title "art".

  1. Hi! For me the street art and the graffiti are two different kind of art, 'cause the art street, like it these two images are works more elaborated than graffiti 'cause it uses different kinds of stencil in their drawings and the graffiti is more interested in uses messages with their paintings… finally both want to give a political, a social or a reflection message but in a different way... I like both!!!!

  3. Hi Simon, I agree with you, banksy pieces are really provoking and most of them look like real images and there are fun, too...I admire people that draw because it isn't easy, they have an enormous talent!!!!

  4. Dear all! I believe creative means are more powerful than messages or speaches. I think children and youth can express lots of things that are not possible in specific situations. For example the armed conflict in Colombia or the difficulties to participate in different spaces because of the political views in that certain community or area. Creative tools can be innovative and colorful to change attitudes and make dreams possible!

  5. I think art is used to give to know our feelings and what we think about what is happening all around the world.

  6. Well, Art is everything that we do to express ours filing, then graffiti is an art too. Some people think that painting in the street’s walls is very impolite, but they think that kill an animal in a square is culture and is an art, then I think that we must create more conscience to tolerate all ours actions, and try to take that important things to us and respect the others.
